Developing Your Leaders, Teams, & People!

Instructional Design

"A systematic approach to course development that ensures specific learning goals and objectives are accomplished."

To determine if you have a need for instructional design, ask yourself...

   1. Do you need a training program designed, but no one within the organization has the time or experience to
        design the program?

   2. Do you need a customized training program, but have difficulty finding the 'perfect' program to purchase?

   3. Do you need an extra pair of hands to assist with the development of a new program or revisions to existing
        materials?

Mosaique can create job specific training modules and job aids to support your business initiatives.  We design the module to allow learners to digest the content in small chunks, we then incorporate application exercises/practice for the individual to 'test' out the new techniques so they feel empowered to 'apply' these skills in their work setting.  As part of the design process, each individual receives objective feedback during the workshop, which builds the confidence and proficiency necessary for immediate and lasting success.

When designing a training program we start with the end in mind, consulting with you to best understand your business needs and how the design of the training program will directly improve employee performance and productivity.

It is important to follow a design model that ensures all phases are efficiently planned and executed to create an effective and interactive program.  To develop and implement a successful training program, we use the ADDIE process which provides a systematic approach to ensure all design steps are completed.

Analyis:               determine the 'scope' of the program i.e., audience, workshop length, objectives, and current skill
                                    level

Design:                determine structure, sequence, format of program, and select instructional method i.e.,
                                    classroom, self-study, etc

Development:      create the materials for the workshop i.e., facilitator's kit, participant guide, handouts, exercises,
job aids, role plays, case studies, PowerPoint, etc

Implementation:  program is administered to the target audience

        Evaluation:
program is evaluated after delivery to determine if effective and if course met the learning
                                    objectives

The goal is to ensure that the training materials are practical, accurate, motivating, and allow flexibility to adapt the program accordingly for future use.  When developing training materials, the '1/3+ 2/3 Theory' is used, which means 1/3 of the total training time is spent presenting, while the other 2/3s is spent on practice and feedback by the participant to become comfortable and confident with the new skills.
